“If I was you, I wouldn’t start from here” This famous ‘Oirish’ line from the last century, used when a foreigner might ask directions from some wise local person, could well be used for the Leitrim Way, as you could well start by crossing the Shannon on a narrow foot bridge and heading to the Canal, where you meet signposts for the “Leitrim Way” which guide you back along the Canal to Leitrim Village itself.
